Enjoy A quick recap of our “I love California” Workshop
We are pleased to report the recent “I Love California” workshop, hosted at The Alisal by noted interior designer and author, Nathan Turner, was a big success. From October 23-25, thirty fortunate guests got to spend some quality time with the celebrity designer learning his take on decorating and Western hospitality. The workshop included: tips on the art of table décor, a detailed cooking class that included marinated tri-tip steak, zucchini and summer squash orecchiette, a wonderful fall salad with dried persimmons and broccoli with garlic and red pepper flakes. All these recipes can be found in Turner’s “I Love California” book. Nathan also included a hands-on session called “Mastering the Margarita” and a class that revealed the secrets to making game-changing guacamole. In the evening guests enjoyed a get-together under the stars with gourmet s’mores. There was also a breakfast horseback ride to the Old Adobe and ample opportunities for spa treatments, golf and horseback riding.
A great time was had by all and soon his 2020 classes will be announced as Nathan Turner returns to share more of his decorating and entertaining secrets. In the meantime, you can see Nathan’s design expertise on full display by reserving one, or all three of the suites that make up The Alisal “Turner House.” The newly renovated cottage suites line the main entrance drive and boast a comfortable authentic Western feel that captures the rich Alisal history.
