We’re fortunate at The Alisal to have many friends and guests who have shared their favorite “Dreaming of” The Alisal moments with us over the last few weeks. Nathan Turner, celebrated interior designer, author and host of our “I Love California” workshop last year, shares his memorable connection with the Ranch. It’s a beautiful blend of family, an innate soulful feeling, and a strong sense of place that brings him back, again and again. Cortez is patiently waiting for his return!
“I’m a 5th generation Californian, and spent a huge part of my childhood on my family’s cattle ranch in Northern California. That time riding horses, tending to the cattle and helping my grandmother host all the big family gatherings impacted every part of my life, especially my career as a designer and lifestyle expert. I continue to be influenced by the casual ease of the California experience.
When I first discovered The Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort, I was immediately transported back home. Of course, the natural beauty of the ranch hit me like a ton of bricks, but what really impacted me was its soul. It is authentic in every way and immediately made me feel at home. That authenticity is seen and felt everywhere, a part of our state not known to many, but for me it’s the real California. I’ve created lifelong memories and meaningful connections at The Alisal…most of all with my favorite horse on the Ranch, Cortez. I am dreaming of my next visit when I back with him riding through the hills of The Alisal.
