Join the Alisal in Honoring Executive Chef Anthony Endy
Chef Endy came to find his culinary passion in high school, when he took a job at the local Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Café. From there, he immersed himself in the food and beverage industry, spending time at Chef Rick’s Ultimately Fine Foods and Wine Cask restaurant in Los Olivos.
After a couple more years in the local food scene, Endy signed on as chef partner and manager of culinary development for the Paul Martin’s American Grill brand. Here, he rose to be Director of Culinary and Corporate Chef, where he designed menus, led the kitchen team, and helped take the restaurant from three locations to 11. This role allowed Chef Endy to create new recipes and source natural ingredients and set him up for success in his current role at The Alisal Ranch & Resort.
Today, Chef Endy is responsible for a wide range of menu selections from quick and casual meals by the pool, to traditional fine dining in The Ranch Room. Chef Endy also oversees many special dinners and barbecues and is a notable host for The BBQ Bootcamp. Chef Endy strives to use locally sourced ingredients and a farm-to-table approach to capture The Alisal’s western ranch style of cooking, while also adding in his own personal twist to the menu options. According to Chef Endy, “Alisal is an iconic Central Coast property, and I’m excited to maintain the integrity of The Ranch and expand up on the food and beverage program with new offerings. The essential elements—seasonal ingredients, classic ranch recipes, BBQs—are all there, now with a bit more technique and flare.”
Some of the new treats Anthony is already bringing to the Ranch are signature dishes like Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Tequila Marinated Butterfish and Wild King Salmon with heirloom tomatoes grown in the Ranch’s new garden. Growing more veggies and herbs and working with the best local farmers are on the chef’s immediate to-do list. Other exciting changes to come will be more vegan and vegetarian menu items and increasing the culinary options around the already famous, BBQ Bootcamp.
Anthony still lives in the Santa Ynez Valley, with his wife, Bethany, and their three young children. The family loves attending baseball games and sporting events, as well as staying active themselves by jogging, swimming, and playing outdoors. He is already receiving excellent reviews from new and returning guests and he is looking forward to being a long term member of the Alisal family. If you see Anthony around, feel free to give him a warm “howdy” and let him know how you like his cooking.
