Capturing the essence of California cuisine with the depth of flavor and heartiness of Western ranch cooking, Chef Endy puts forth delectable selections ranging from casual meals by the pool or on the golf course, to fine dining in the Ranch Room. A native of the Santa Ynez Valley, Director of Culinary Operations, Anthony Endy, brings to Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort a reverence for the region’s bounty and a commitment to timeless food made from seasonal, locally sourced ingredients at their peak. He also oversees special dinners and al fresco barbecues among Alisal’s rolling hills—“cooking with a live fire is a special passion of mine,” he explains.

COVID Emergency Dining Policies & MEnus

On July 1st, the Governor of California has mandated special guidelines for dining at restaurants. Masks are required on property everywhere per mandate from State of California.

  • Beginning Thursday, July 2nd; the Lake BBQ’s have been relocated to the Grassy Oval.
  • Beginning Friday, July 3rd, the Rodeo BBQ will remain as scheduled (also on Wednesday nights). In addition, we will have a la carte dining options along the creekside.
  • Beginning Saturday, July 4th:
    • All breakfast dining will take place on the Grassy Oval. You will have the option to use the buffet (relocated to the Ranch Room) or order from our regular breakfast menu.
    • All seating will be outside.
    • There will be no dining in The Cottonwood Room.

All food can be packaged for take away or delivered to your room.

The Ranch Dining Room at the Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort
We welcome you for breakfast everyday. Order from an extensive breakfast menu, or choose from our buffet featuring a seasonal fresh fruit, an assortment of fresh-baked pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages from Solvang, and more local, seasonal selections.

Join us every evening for dinner where we feature Chef Anthony’s custom creations. Our menu changes daily because we use the freshest ingredients from local farms and ranches.

Assigned Seating —The Ranch Room & Sycamore Room are assigned seating.

It’s Tradition— Since the opening of the Ranch in 1946, it has been custom to “dress up” for dinner on the Ranch. This tradition means that gentlemen 16 years and older wear a collared shirt & sport coat to dinner and ladies dress accordingly. If you choose to wear jeans, we ask that your jeans be “dinner dressy” (not frayed and without holes). Keeping our “country-formal” dinner tradition is part of the fun.

Join us for lunch at the Chuckwagon Grill, and dine poolside on our sunny patio. Be sure to wet your whistle next-door at the Waggin’ Tongue Bar where we feature local wines by the glass or bottle, local beers on tap, and a full selection of spirits. The Chuckwagon Grill is located adjacent to the pool and next to the Cottonwood Room.

The Oak Room


Custom cocktail at the Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort
The Oak Room is a favorite meeting spot offering a full bar, local beers on tap, and wines from the local AVAs and beyond. Feeling a bit peckish? The Oak Room has a selection of appetizers available as well. You can also enjoy a cappuccino or espresso if you need a lil’ kick. Warm you bones and sit a spell on the fireplace hearth, enjoy watching a game or round of golf on the TVs. Saunter right up to the bar and enjoy a drink. Music is offered nightly beginning at 6:30 pm.

Located at the River Golf Course, the River Grill is open for breakfast and lunch. The River Grill features both indoor and outdoor seating, and we have ample space for your special events and gatherings.

The Ranch Course Grill & Golf Lounge

The Ranch Grill at the Alisal Ranch Golf Course
Located at the Ranch Golf Course (just north of the Guest Ranch), the Ranch Grill is open for Breakfast and Lunch. The Ranch Grill features both indoor and outdoor seating, and can accommodate groups up to 80 people. Enjoy the fabulous views from the patio, and be sure to check with Chris about the daily drink specials.

Summertime Special Dinners & Barbecues

During the summer season, guests are also treated to three weekly outdoor events: a Seafood Barbecue served at Alisal Lake on Monday nights, a Southwestern-style barbecue served at the Rodeo Arena on Wednesday nights, and our traditional Western-style barbecue served on the lawn adjacent to the pool on Saturday nights. The Monday and Wednesday affairs are optional, as the Ranch Dining Room is also open to guests on those evenings.

Service Charges

The Alisal's 20% service charge is intended to eliminate the need for our guests to tip individual employees, as well as cover the cost of a variety of amenities provided to our guests. These include two water canteens and a bottle of Alisal wine at check-in, daily newspapers, complimentary WiFi internet access, fitness center, complimentary shuttles to and from Solvang village center, nightly hors d'oeuvres in the Oak Room bar, complimentary bicycles, wine tasting with Alisal wine partners, scheduled and seasonal entertainment and a variety of children's activities including barnyard and Kid's arts and crafts room.
